Leadership kick-off for BLS minor (Avans)
Commitment was visible from the start of this Day of Personal Leadership; all seventeen students were ready in our classroom three minutes in advance, this makes a great start. Ingrid Devjak MBA is coaching one of the teams for the full semester, fully dedicated to help them grow their Leadership skills, as well as Joost van Hilst MBA and Richard Vos .
Leadership perspectives
The students from eight different countries have begun with a clear objective ‘Shaping my Future’ by looking in the mirror and asking for feedback in five major growth areas to make a personal growth plan:
- Achieving personal influence
- Mastering leadership habits
- Working on my inner voice
- Growing my EQ
- Developing my team player virtues
Go Giver
Jessica Roosenburg appreciated my coaching (2010-2011) so much that she gave me the book De Go-Giver, A little story about a powerful business idea. This morning I opened the workshop with a picture of Mark Rutte and Jacinda Ardern enjoying a syrup waffle.
I had only one prize to offer the winner of the Team Challenge today, more then enough to share within the team but not with the whole class. As a brilliant act of leadership the winning team promised a self made cake to share the next meeting with the whole class; think win-win (habit five) in action. What a beautiful closing of this Personal Leadership workshop, thank you all!
